    Salted Caramel {Ancho Chili} Mocha Latte

    September 16, 2012 / 4 Comments

    Salted Caramel Ancho Chili Mocha.  This is for all my Starbuck’s loving friends.  Never got out of my pj’s (okay I know….most of you go to Starbuck’s drive-thru in your jammies too), but I didn’t have to open the garage door….which meant I didn’t wake any sleeping babies (in my case Shelby and Lilah)….you see where I’m headed.

    Miso Soup with Poached Egg {Share the Love}

    September 12, 2012 / 4 Comments

    What started one day as a “What’s for Dinner?” conversation at the office turned into a mission to make homemade Miso Soup and ultimately an ingredient split.  And so that evening I did my usual research: scan the Internet for the most striking Miso Soup images first, read multiple recipes second.

    Roast Chicken in a Clay Baker

    September 11, 2012 / 78 Comments

    Roast Chicken in a Clay Baker. That was my mission. A couple of weeks ago, while perusing the isles of my local thrift store, I scored this amazing Romertopf Clay Baker.  I knew at that moment my first dish baked in this vessel would be Roast Chicken.  As I’ve commented on in the past we cook a whole chicken almost every week.  We change up our recipes and cooking methods and it’s always delicious.

    Herbed Butter & Oils {Fresh Herbs Frozen in Olive Oil or Butter}

    September 10, 2012 / 12 Comments

    Now you can have fresh herb flavors in the Winter Thyme too!!  Freezing the herbs in olive oil or unsalted melted butter allows the herbs to keep their color and aroma.  Just pop them out of the freezer to start any sauté or savory dish.  Just brilliant!

    If after reading the title and seeing the picture you’re still looking for more… it’s likely you have an insatiable sweet tooth like me.  I saw these Chocolate Chip & Oreo Caramel Brownies on Pinterest from the site Betchacanteatjustone and immediately pinned it to wait patiently for the right occasion.  These brownies are dangerous and should not be left unattended…they will disappear and potentially wreak havoc.  Which is precisely why I made them to bring to my tennis match.

    Jamaican Jerk Marinated Turkey Tenderloins. I’ve said before and I’ll say again…I love to cook for my family & friends, I love to cook for my co-workers, and I love to cook for my tennis-mates.  Today I had the pleasure of sneaking out of the office just long enough to share lunch with some good friends for a birthday celebration.

    I am loving my new star ingredients from Oli+Ve, Blackberry Ginger Balsamic Vinegar.  In fact I’ll be back for refills this weekend.  Whenever I have the opportunity to cook for a group, small or large, I love to try something new.  It’s risky (if it flops) but measuring the mmmm mmm good tells you best whether it’s a keeper or history.

    Creating wonderful vinaigrettes or marinades is so easy when you have these beautiful ingredients to work with.  I started with Peppercorn & Balsamic Poached Pears which yielded a wonderful balsamic reduction to use as the base for my vinaigrette.

    I discovered a lovely new shop for premium olive oils & balsamic vinegars.  I came home with Blackberry Ginger Balsamic, among others.  The flavor is so wonderful.  Sweet, yet balanced by vinegar tart with a smooth finish.  I’m now on a mission to come up with as many ways to incorporate it into my meals as possible.

    Chicken Parmesan {Share the Love}

    September 4, 2012 / 3 Comments

    Chicken Parmesan over pasta makes me comfortable and happy.  Today I delivered it to a friend with hopes it does the same for her :)  Chicken breasts, lightly breaded, pan browned, topped with a basic tomato sauce, mozzarella & Parmesan cheese.  Easy comfort.

About Libby

Hi, I'm Libby and welcome to Lemony Thyme. I hope you'll enjoy this collection of recipes, eating experiences, and food photography. My cooking abilities rose to a new level when I started incorporating fresh herbs. I began to understand the term ‘layers of flavor’ and found myself deconstructing dishes with my tongue to identify each ingredient.
