First it was the Green Bloody Mary, then the Bloody Mary Dressing for our Avocado & Shrimp Salad….both which inspired these Bloody Caesar Spicy Shrimp Shooters.

Bloody Mary Dressing {with Shrimp & Avocado Salad}
Nothing like a good spicy Bloody Mary to wake up the taste buds and catch your attention. Gosh I love them. Now that the whole world is caught in a smoothie, vegenator, super blender craze I envision the Bloody Mary reborn. We’ve already fallen in love with Green Bloody Mary’s and recently enjoyed a version made with Sake as well. I think I need to dedicate an entire post to Bloody Mary’s or better yet cocktail inspired recipes, but for today we’ll focus on this lovely Bloody Mary Dressing.

Green Bloody Mary
The Bloody Mary has come a long way baby from tomato juice & vodka. The myriad of spices and seasonings and sauces that can transform this drink is endless. If I only owned a juicer….just think how cool and colorful Mary could become (hint hint). Today we’ll stick with our every day humble blender and create a fresh crisp Green Bloody Mary.

Chicken Tortilla Soup {Share the Love}
Today we are Sharing the Love at the office in honor of Customer Service Appreciation Week. Sharing the love for our amazing group generally involves food. Food makes us happy. Had a request for Chicken Tortilla Soup….a recipe we perfected a couple years ago. My oh my it’s good. Also sharing my Italian Wedding Soup because it’s one of my all time favorites. And enjoying delicious Chicken BBQ thanks to Bethany. Great day!!

Shark Kebabs {aka Shark Bites}
Today I was given the challenge of coming up with a Shark recipe. Yes I said Shark…as in Jaws (but smaller, teeth removed). What came home from the store was a fresh Shark fillet and a vote of confidence, “I know you’ll come up with something good…and shouldn’t everyone try shark at least once?!” And so the recipe research began. After reading many I began to see a pattern….powerful punchy flavors. Not sure what we’re covering up but I’m all in. Welcome Shark Kebabs with Orange-Avocado Salsa served over Spiced Cashew Rice. Thank you Epicurious and Food & Wine for these great recipes.

Spiced Cashew Rice
Aaah the aromas….they’re dancing through my kitchen. As soon as I lifted the lid a smile came across my face. The sight was beautiful, like an apple pie fresh from the oven beautiful.

Welcome Autumn Thyme {Dried Herbs}
Today we say goodbye to Summer Thyme and welcome Autumn to the pages of Lemony Thyme. Our new homepage picture tells the story of our fresh herb journey. This Spring we made three whiskey barrel herb gardens for our back porch. They became the inspiration for Lemony Thyme as our cooking began to burst with flavor. We’ve nurtured them and they’ve nourished us all Summer long. While we still have a good bit of life in our herb barrels…we’re but a frost away from losing them until next Spring.

Almond Joy Iced Coffee {National Coffee Day}
Today is National Coffee Day! I’m not sure who declares all these ‘National’ Days but thank you, whoever you are, for this one. Coconut and Chocolate belong together. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t. Today it’s nuts. ~ Almond Joy Iced Coffee Recipe ~

Broccoli & Bacon Breakfast Burrito
It’s the weekend!!! Breakfast makes me happy! Discovering leftover steamed broccoli in the fridge inspires me… This morning it shall be Broccoli & Bacon Breakfast Burrito. Super simple and by adding a few fresh herbs and seasonings….super delicious! Of course bacon never hurt flavor either. After browning the bacon in a medium skillet and pouring off the drippings I sauteed onion slices until tender, then added a handful of steamed broccoli florets, fresh lemony thyme, a pinch of Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb seasoning, and a little salt & pepper.
