I am completely serious when I say that I might love leftovers more than the original serving. I realize there are some exceptions, but for the most part I’m a leftovers kind of girl.
We recently enjoyed some fine Ribeye steaks (remind me to tell you later about the reverse-seared method Nick used to cook them). Any how, we found ourselves with enough leftover steak to turn into Beef Stroganoff.” Continue reading »

inI have this bag of baking supplies that I hide out of sight in the hall coat closet. My logic is questionable since I (1) hid it, and (2) it’s been discovered. It contains everything from Peanut M&M’s to Hershey’s Kisses to Ferrero Rocher, plus assorted other essentials like chocolate chips, shredded coconut, marshmallows, and Heath toffee bits. Let me tell you about Spinach & Goat Cheese Quick Bread. Sautéed spinach and goat cheese are the signature ingredients yet there’s so much more happening here. Fresh rosemary and thyme, cracked black pepper, garlic and lemon zest are swirled throughout this moist and tender bread. Continue reading »

This month’s issue of Food Network Magazine is all about Quick Breads. Fifty to be exact. I had to throw my hat in the ring and have a go at it. So I made two of them. Two savory breads with fresh herbs and cheeses and aromatics. My kitchen was a swirling aroma happy place. Continue reading »
