The Lobster Roll
No slow crawl through New England would be complete without The Lobster Roll. It’s a classic. No words required. Enjoy.

French Onion Soup {with Pumpernickel Croutons}
When I make French Onion Soup I know my family feels loved. That makes me happy. A big pot of buttery caramelized onions, fresh herbs & garlic, nice rich beef stock, topped with an over-sized crouton smothered with cheese. It’s LOVE I tell you.

New England Clam Chowder
As kids growing up, when we went out to a restaurant, what we ordered was routine (thank goodness I outgrew that phase). Even though Mom had it memorized and could have easily ordered for us, from as early as I can remember she insisted we order our own meal (and take our elbows off the table). The server would take our drink order first, mine was always Ginger Ale. Then they’d come back and take our meal order, mine was always a Grilled Cheese Sandwich and a cup of Clam Chowder. Always. When you grow up in New England, it’s not a matter of whether Clam Chowder is the ‘soup of the day’….it will always be on the menu.

Homemade Chai Tea Latte
I made scrumptious Pistachio-Chai muffins yesterday afternoon. I sat down at my computer this morning, muffin by my side, to write about them. I didn’t get two sentences in before I was stuck. How do I describe the flavor of Chai Tea? I love it. I’ve had it many times since Shelby first introduced it to me several years ago. I know there’s cinnamon, I think there may be ginger and clove, but it’s depth of flavor is far more than that.

Pistachio-Chai Muffins
I really should make muffins more often. They are perfect for breakfast, beautiful as an afternoon snack, and happiness just before bed. Beautiful little bundles of goodness. When a recipe calls for Chai Tea, Buttermilk, and Pistachios and you happen to have all of them in the house….it’s a sign. These Pistachio-Chai Muffins have hints of cinnamon, ginger, star anise, clove, cardamom…all the wonderful spices that make Chai Tea so comforting.

Pulled Pork Sliders {and the Great American Race}
Last Sunday was the Daytona 500. The first race of the Nascar season. The occasion was worthy of a special dinner, so we bought the biggest Boston Butt Pork Roast we could find, slow braised it all afternoon, and turned it into Pulled Pork Sliders to enjoy with the race.

Slow Braised Boston Butt Pork Roast
If you’ve been following Lemony Thyme for a bit, you’ve probably picked up on our love for slow braising meats. So much so, I added the category B is for Braising to our recipe roster. Whether it be a Beef Pot Roast, Pork Chops, Beef Shanks, Chicken in a Pot, or this gorgeous Boston Butt Pork Roast, braising takes any cut of meat and turns it into tender love.

Turkey Burgers {BBQ}
I have no excuse for not sharing this recipe with you before now. Our close friends and family know that Turkey Burgers with Sweet Potato Fries had always been a signature meal for us. However, somewhere around the time I got caught up in the What’s for Dinner craze (trying different recipes almost every night), our old faithful Turkey Burger got limited play time. It took sharing them at the office last week for me to realize how much I’ve missed them. And considering they are still being raved about, it’s time to give up the secret recipe.

Smoked Paprika Sweet Potato Chips {Share the Love}
I work with 33 unique and amazing individuals. Today I shall recognize one of my more colorful teammates. Her color is pink, her personality is sassy, her aura is diva, and her soul is as pure and kind as they come. She’s beautiful inside and out. And did I mention she’s married to the sweetest man, who happens to have a kick-butt smoker. Last week she brought me a sampling of his Smoked Paprika. As soon as I opened the bag and the sweet savory aroma rose into the air…I could envision one thing and one thing only…BBQ Potato Chips. My absolute favorite…BBQ Potato Chips…were just a mandolin away from happening.

The Jarlsberg BLT with Fried Egg
At our last family pot-luck gathering, my sister-in-law brought a crock full of the most glorious cheese dip. Jarlsberg Cheese Dip to be exact. She served it cold with a sliced baguette. I’m sure I never let it out of my sight or reach for the entire evening hour before it was devoured for it’s heavenly goodness. She shared that she had bought this tub of love at her local Kroger supermarket. I promptly sought out the closest Kroger and bought 2 tubs (plain and jalapeno) and a baguette.
