Peach, Berry & Basil Fruit Salad with Orange Vinaigrette.
Something special happens when the warm orange vinaigrette meets the sliced peaches and berries. Something really special. This wonderful Peach, Berry & Basil Fruit Salad is sweet and sexy enough to be served as dessert. I say let ’em eat dessert for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Asparagus lined one side of my grandfather Boppy’s garden, the only barrier between me and the glorious blueberry bushes. It seemed with each days passing it grew a foot taller. It’s feathering shoots locked hands making it nearly impossible to pass through. I had no use for it when I was eight.
I am thankful for Farmers’ Markets (where I scored these beautiful Georgia peaches) and friends with gardens (where I scored these picture perfect jalapenos). When peaches and jalapeños meet there is bound to be some sweet spicy love created aka Peach Jalapeño Skillet Jam.
Corned Beef Hash with Poached Eggs. Designed for breakfast, hearty enough for dinner, and really great leftover.
One benefit of food blogging is that from time to time we have to make a dish more than once. Especially if it’s a holiday themed recipe that needs to get out ahead of time. That’s exactly what happened this year in preparation for St. Patrick’s Day…times three. Yes, we cooked three rounds of corned beef between March 6th and March 17th. One for my New England Boiled Dinner post, one for my office St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon, and one for us to enjoy on St. Patty’s Day.
Red Flannel Hash might be characterized as New England Boiled Dinner‘s better half. As the story goes, no Boiled Dinner is officially over until the last of the red flannel hash is served. And since no boiled dinner has ever been eaten in just one sitting, this heavenly hash is the icing on the cake if you will.
First and foremost, Happy New Year!! We are looking forward to a delicious year ahead. New Year’s Day may seem like an odd time to post a recipe for Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits. I’m guessing a good number of you (and me) are launching resolutions today, likely containing at least one involving health and wellness. Am I right?
Nothing fancy about this Spicy Sausage Cheese Balls recipe. We just had a craving and conveniently had the ingredients on hand. Or so we thought. They’ll be a bonus recipe at the end for Bisquick from scratch.
I’m off this week. Off from work. My day job is running a door lock and hardware company. Strike that. My day job is motivating and hopefully at times inspiring my work family. Ultimately we all want the same, from work. It’s where we make our living, which funds our passions.
This recipe has nothing to do with that. But I wanted to share where I am right now.
