Hummingbird Cake {with Pineapple Flowers}
She requested a Hummingbird Cake. It was about six months ago and it went something like this. Oh. My Word! You have GOT to make a Hummingbird Cake and share it on Lemony Thyme. And with me. Of course you have to share it with me.

My Writing Process – A Blog Tour
Greetings! This is not your typical Lemony Thyme recipe post. Today I am participating in a Blog Tour. One week ago I had no idea what that meant. However, because I was asked by Trisha with The Lazy Mom’s Cooking Blog, I couldn’t resist. Trisha is witty in a way that draws you in and keeps you entertained. She will make you chuckle out loud and want to drink wine with her. And while I love that about her, it’s her spectacular photography that first led me to her page. You’ll want to get in on that action at http://www.thelazymomcooks.com/.

Three Cheese Mac ‘n’ Cheese {Grilled Cheese Sandwich}
It was quickly becoming evident that my attempt to share a different grilled cheese recipe each day in April (National Grilled Cheese Month) was going to fall short by about 5 days. What’s a girl to do?

Tuna Mac with Peas
Tuna Mac with Peas. A family favorite comfort food. A blog is after all a place to share memories. I couldn’t recall how it came to be that Tuna Mac with Peas became such a favorite with my sister and I….so I called her and asked her. Her earliest recollection dated back to when we were about 7 and 10. It was our Baby Sitter Dinner.

Egg Salad {an exercise in love}
Egg Salad. Made with love. Really, is there any other way to make it? Finely chopped hard-boiled eggs tossed with celery and scallion that’s been given equal attention, blended with mayonnaise, salt & pepper. Simply love.

Tom Yum Soup {Thai Hot & Sour Soup}
It had been entirely too long since I stood embraced by the best hugger I know. My kid! She delivers the kind of hug that reaches through the front of you and radiates out to the tips of your fingers and toes. The kind that inspires you to start a blog post about Tom Yum Soup {Thai Hot & Sour Soup} with a hug.

Homemade Dr. Pepper BBQ Sauce {in Secret Santa Style}
Homemade Dr. Pepper BBQ Sauce. We just completed our ‘Secret Santa Week’ at work and wrapped it up with a fabulous party on Saturday night. I say this often, but not often enough. I work with the most amazing group of passionate people. Plan a Tacky Sweater Party and watch a room of adults transform and embrace the theme. WOW!!

Caldo de Pollo {Sundays with Shelby}
It’s been a challenging couple of weeks for my kid Shelby. My tender-hearted 22 year old had her heart strings plucked like a banjo. No phone conversation could soothe her, it was time for a little Mom love. I told her to jump in the shower, get ready, I was heading her way.

Turkey Tetrazzini {and a rambling on family}
Shelby and I recently had the pleasure of flying north to visit my brother, sister and their families for a few days. We, like many families, are separated by distance and life and the stuff that can get in the way. This trip was a chance for us to put all of that aside and just be together. It was wonderful. How does that relate to Turkey Tetrazzini? I’m about to tell you in a long winded way. However you won’t hurt my feelings if you’re simply here for a great leftover turkey recipe and know that we loved this growing up. See below.
