I could hardly wait for today to finally get here.  It’s opening day for our local Farmers’ Market.  Every Wednesday and Saturday from now through October we will be buying our fresh produce from local farmers.  I could hardly wait to get there, then I could hardly wait to leave so I could show off my bounty.  Recipe inspiration came streaming through my mind as did recipes past where fresh vegetables transformed the dish.  That’s when I decided to round-up all my Farmers’ Market Favorites in one post.

Had the best time this morning at the local Farmers’ Market.  Not only am I so excited about findng some varieties I’ve never tried (yellow zucchini & zephyr squash) but there in the middle of a long row of booths was the wonderful lady who makes my new favorite sweet bbq sauce – CharSu Sauce.  I had bought a jar last year from her husband but it got tucked in the back of the pantry until just last week.

This Hawaiian sauce is amazing.  Sweet and delicious.  It reminds me of the flavors of my mom’s homemade Boston baked beans.  We first tried it on Fish but later loved it equally on chicken.  Recipes to follow… See their facebook page ~ Sweet Hawaiian BBQ to find out how to get your own jar.
