There’s one splurge I can not resist during the holidays and that is bread pudding. I’ve shared a couple savory versions of this simplistic dish, however the sweet buttery rendition is MY all-time favorite. Here is my Maple Pecan Bread Pudding {with Bourbon Sauce}.
Bread Pudding. Step-by-step.
Ingredients. Chance to get creative.
Good stale bread. Another chance to get creative.
Dip bread strips in melted butter. Or not. I would.
Arrange bread in buttered casserole. Chance to infuse with signature flavors. Like maple pecan.
Add egg/milk mixture until absorbed. Slowly. Then sprinkle with topping.
Bake until crispy. Buttery sugar smell will fill your kitchen.
Serve with Bourbon Sauce. Oh my.
Whether you’re making this glorious dish for a holiday celebration, Kentucky Derby party, or my birthday….prepare yourself!! The crispy sweet caramelized edges are the best, right after the pecan crumble topping….that’s barely edged out by Bourbon Sauce. Don’t skip the Bourbon Sauce. Holy Wow.
