    Seared Ahi Tuna with Thai Risotto

    May 30, 2015 / 5 Comments

    I’m not sure how it happened.  Ahi Tuna on sale for $6.99 a pound.  Text message…go there.  Do not pass go, do not collect $200 dollars…just bring home Tuna.  I have to say, I was a bit skeptical.  This was not Sushi grade tuna, for which we will pay up for.  But it was fresh and thick and begging for a swim in marinade. Seared Ahi Tuna {with Thai Risotto}.

    Tuna Melt Grilled Cheese Sliders

    April 13, 2014 / 3 Comments

    Sometimes a recipe comes to me based on one single ingredient.  In this case it was a gorgeous Kimmelweck roll in the case at the bakery.  I couldn’t wait to get home and make tuna melts for lunch.  I promptly proceeded to burn the bun.  With all other ingredients gathered I turned to my freezer to find the tail end of a pack of Party Rye.  And that is how the Tuna Melt Grilled Cheese Slider was born.

    Tuna Mac with Peas

    April 9, 2014 / 3 Comments

    Tuna Mac with Peas.  A family favorite comfort food.  A blog is after all a place to share memories. I couldn’t recall how it came to be that Tuna Mac with Peas became such a favorite with my sister and I….so I called her and asked her.  Her earliest recollection dated back to when we were about 7 and 10.  It was our Baby Sitter Dinner.

    Tuna Cakes {with Summer Breeze Citrus Salad}

    January 26, 2013 / No Comments

    I’m writing this post while Summer Breeze by Seals & Croft is playing in the background (from a youtube link on the page of a friend) :)  Maybe I’m longing for summer a lot earlier than usual or perhaps it’s that Mother Nature is teasing us.  Freezing rain yesterday, 50’s today.  It’s Saturday, the sun is shining, I’m having Tuna Cakes with Citrus Salad for lunch, and these words are speaking to me: See the smile a-waitin’ in the kitchen food cookin’ and the plates for two Feel the arms that reach out to hold me in the evening when the day is through. Summer breeze makes me feel fine blowing through the jasmine…

About Libby

Hi, I'm Libby and welcome to Lemony Thyme. I hope you'll enjoy this collection of recipes, eating experiences, and food photography. My cooking abilities rose to a new level when I started incorporating fresh herbs. I began to understand the term ‘layers of flavor’ and found myself deconstructing dishes with my tongue to identify each ingredient.
