Cowboy Cut USDA Prime Ribeye Steak.
The Christmas holiday was fast approaching and I was once again stumped with what to get B for a Christmas gift. He’s a real bugger who refuses to help me in this area, simply saying he has everything he needs. Ah come on man, help a girl out. Didn’t budge.
So at the tail end of what was to be my last shopping trip of the season, Shelby and I sat exhausted in traffic, working our way home. What to get Dad? Shelby sat for a minute and asked “what makes Dad happy?” Well besides his family, he gets pretty darn excited when we score a USDA Prime steak at our wholesale club. Bingo. Into action we went….actually Shelby went into action while I maneuvered through traffic. A little internet research and a few phone calls later we had a 2lb. Cowboy Cut USDA Prime Ribeye Steak scheduled for delivery just before Christmas. Ye Haw!! Come on.
Because this steak was already guaranteed to be so juicy and delicious, we simply seasoned it with salt and pepper then pan seared it in a cast iron skillet. A technique that we’ve yet to perfect (perfect as in performing this method without coating the kitchen in fat and setting off a smoke alarm or two), however we continue on in our pursuit of perfection. Served with Horseradish Sauce and a Loaded Baked Potato and we were in cow heaven.
