The inspiration for this Hot Cuban Dip was the Cuban sandwich I had enjoyed the day before. With every bite I took I was reminded of how much I loved the flavor combination. Continue reading »

inThis might be my most favorite salad EVER. I’m sometimes reminded not to make statements that can’t stand the test of thyme. If you deliver me a Tipico Power Bowl {with Grilled Chicken} 5 days a week, I’m certain I will sing your praises. Continue reading »

Most days, whether at home or the office I’ll have an Egg White Omelet Bowl for breakfast. A bed of spinach (getting my calcium anywhere I can), a drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of fresh herbs and scallions, and an egg white omelet packed with herbs. Today, my herb of choice was Thai Basil which is thriving in our Aero Garden presently. This Thai Basil Egg White Omelet Bowl fits in so nicely with my Healthy Choices plan. Continue reading »

inWe bought a 5 pound cabbage for 88 cents. Not sure why I chose that as the intro line to this recipe, but dang cabbage is cheap. Which makes really good cabbage recipes all the more appealing.
We like many, had Corned Beef & Cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day. We like many, have leftovers to repurpose. Gruyere Cabbage was a dish my mom made often. Today, I dug out the 30-year old hand written recipe card, made sense of the measurements, and added bacon. Oh my! I think Mom would be proud. Continue reading »

Chinese New Year is always an ‘event’ for me. My passion for this holiday stems from my day job, which is…importing door locks. Hold on, don’t run away so fast. 21 years ago, I left my job as a lumber buyer and took a position as a… warehouse/errand running/shipping/office clerk/teach me how to drive that forklift and key door locks…I’m ALL IN kind of person. inI found this yummy Sausage & Fennel Stuffed Pork Roast recipe in my December Food & Wine magazine. I’ve become a big fan of fennel, especially when combined with fresh herbs and savory aromatics. It was the stuffing that hooked me on this recipe from the start and the end result was absolutely delicious. Continue reading »
